Why this exists
The industry changed.
Full-time isn’t a career anymore. It’s a contract with an expiry date nobody told you about.
Layoff rounds wipe out years of progress. AI ate the junior pipeline. Studios shed talent at every level. The 2026 market doesn’t reward loyalty. It rewards leverage.
Whether you’re trying to break in, level up, lead a team that’s slipping through your fingers, or scale something of your own, the same thing is true.
You don’t need another resume tweak. You need to stop being optional.
The promise
from hopeless to hireable in 8 weeks
For serious people in games. At every level.
The 2026 games job market is brutal. You’re applying, waiting, hoping, and getting nothing back because the system is broken.
I built an 8-week program that breaks the cycle. We stop the endless applying and get you noticed by the people actually making hiring decisions.
- BREAKING IN
- First industry role, career pivot into games
- GROWING
- Mid-career, ready for the next level
- LEADING
- Senior, going for director or VP
- EXECUTIVE
- Director+, moving to the top
Clients have landed at Obsidian, Riot Games, Google, Santa Monica, ProbablyMonsters, PerBlue, Wargaming, Sony, and more.
This includes
- 8 sessions over Zoom
- Discord support between sessions plus 1 year of portal access
In 6 sessions, Adam’s guidance helped me land a six-figure role with equity. He helped me to establish a meaningful value proposition which gave me the confidence to create my next opportunity — one that wasn’t published on any job board or website.

The promise
lead better. build bigger. move faster.
For execs and business owners in games.
You’re at the top. And nobody prepared you for it.
You’re at the top of the org chart, or you built the studio yourself. Either way, there’s no one above you with the answers.
A partnership, not a framework.
1:1 advisory built for people running the show. Not a coaching framework you outgrow, a working partnership that matches the stakes.
Three kinds of operators.
- LEADING
- Director+ ready for the VP or C-suite move
- RUNNING
- Founders and studio owners scaling past themselves
- PIVOTING
- Execs planning the next chapter, board seat, or exit
The receipts.
Clients have moved into VP and C-suite roles, scaled businesses 50%+ in six months, driven 300%+ Steam revenue lifts, and closed $800K+ contracts.
I sought out Adam because I needed a push and accountability. Adam delivered and so much more. Great advice, really puts an effort into finding out what you need and doing his best to deliver. He got me over my hump and our games show it.

For games studios
Unstick your team. Grow past the ceiling.
Leadership coaching and team coaching for games studios.
When leaders stall, teams stall.
Managers get promoted without ever being taught to lead. Directors run into scope they’ve never handled. Founders build the studio and then get stuck being the studio. The thought patterns that got them here won’t get them where the org needs them to go.
Three ways we work together.
- 1:1
- Embedded executive coaching for a specific leader. Director, VP, or studio head.
- Team
- Ongoing leadership coaching for a leadership team or department over weeks or months.
- Workshop
- Focused one or multi-day intensives on a specific leadership challenge.
What we work on.
Manager to leader transitions. Leading through layoffs and change. Cross-functional communication. Retention and culture. Difficult conversations. Executive presence. Scaling leadership as the studio grows.
Why me.

Three places you might be right now.
Different surface. Same problem underneath: you’re reacting to the board instead of moving it.
BETWEEN ROLES
Laid off, exit-planning, or stuck in post-acquisition limbo. The applications go out. Nothing comes back. The pile is a meat grinder — so we stop feeding it and go around it.
LEADING
Running a team or a studio and watching it slip through your fingers. You can hit the ship date. Leading people through the rounds is the part nobody trained you for.
SCALING
Solo dev or small studio, building the operating model that survives past the next title. The talent is there. The business that sells it isn’t built yet.

Who you’re working with
I’m Adam Hobbs.
15 years in games. Two decades as a marketer building brands. A certified coach. A mental health clinician. Three businesses I’ve built and run.
Here’s why it matters for you.
I’ve led and hired teams at the biggest organizations in gaming. I know what gets people hired, promoted, and trusted at the top because I’ve been the one making those calls.
I’ve spent 20 years building brands that get noticed. I bring the same skill to your career. Most people come to me saying “I don’t know how to sell myself.” That’s exactly the work. It’s your story, your positioning, your brand of one.
I’ve also lived it. Got laid off twice. Rebuilt the whole thing from scratch, on my own terms, late in my career. And when all the “experts” told me that was a bad idea.
Now I do this work with solo devs, founders, executives, and job seekers. Clients who’ve gone on to work at Riot, ProbablyMonsters, Obsidian, Google, Cloud9, Santa Monica Studio, plus alumni from Rockstar, EA, Nintendo, Amazon, Ubisoft, Sony, and Epic.
Not just a coach. A partner who’s in it with you until you land.
What this practice is
A games industry career coach who’s been in the chair.
I’m a games industry career coach for serious devs at every level — mid-career, senior, exec, and the occasional break-in operator playing the long game. Coaching that doesn’t sound like it came from a LinkedIn course, because I’ve actually done the work I’m coaching on.
Straight answers.
What exactly is coaching?+
Coaching is a guided learning process that helps you develop practical skills and uncover what’s holding you back. It’s not about quick tips or “advice” like you get on YouTube or TikTok. It’s about identifying and breaking through limiting beliefs, building accountability, and creating lasting change in your games career or business — and using tools and methods that have worked for over 100 game devs in my practice.
How is it different from mentorship?+
Mentors share advice from their own experience. Coaching goes deeper. It challenges you, pushes back, and helps you see what you can’t see from the inside. Mentorship is one-way. Coaching is a working partnership.
How long does a coaching engagement last?+
Most clients work with me for 8 weeks to 6 months, depending on goals. Some continue long-term for accountability and sustained growth.
How much does your coaching cost?+
Every coaching relationship is customized to your goals and needs. Most clients invest between $2,800 and $4,200 to start.
Why so much?+
Because each coaching relationship is unique and tailored to each client. People who seek me out are done with free and cheap advice that simply does not work for them. They need expert guidance, mindset work, clarity, focus, accountability, and a working partnership that requires several hours of work.
The investment is also a motivating aspect that commits clients to dedication and growth. People who are serious about their gaming careers understand that real change doesn’t happen on a budget.
Lastly, if you compare it to university, secondary, and certificate programs that cost thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars — and don’t teach anything about securing work or developing your career — the investment for coaching is dwarfed by these costs and provides very real and specific value.
Who do you typically work with?+
The majority of my clients are established in games already. Typically mid-career through executive operators in games. Most come from organizations like Xbox, Sony, Riot, Nintendo, EA, and Obsidian. I sometimes work with people trying to break in, but only if they’re playing the long game and ready to operate like a pro from day one.
Do you offer standalone resume reviews?+
Not at this time. In my experience, when someone feels stuck, it’s rarely just about the resume. It’s a much larger picture that includes strategy, networking, vision, and requires expert feedback.
The first step
Start with one hour.
Just us, working on the single thing blocking you most right now. You’ll leave with real clarity and a plan you can run on your own, plus the option to keep working together if that’s the right move. Either way, you’ll have spent an hour with a proven coach in your corner, someone who’s helped people move through this exact problem and come out ahead.
What you walk away with
Your one thing, named
The specific problem you’re the person to solve. Clear enough that someone else can repeat it for you.
Your proof, mapped
The real wins that back it up, pulled into evidence you can actually put to work.
A plan for Monday
Not theory. The concrete next moves you run the moment we hang up.
One hour. And if we decide to keep working together, it’s credited toward your program. So the call either stands on its own or pays for itself.
I take a limited number of clients each month, so everyone I work with gets my full attention.
